We all need someone we can trust, no matter what. It’s good for us to talk about things freely, without watching our words, and for that, we need to trust people.
The problem, however, is that once you’ve trusted too many people and had that trust betrayed, it’s difficult to completely trust new people.
That’s the past at work on the present. No matter how hard we try to escape it, the past is always exerting its influence, good or bad, over the present.

Le sigh.
So true. It’s unfortunate that people we’ve known in our past shadow how we view people in our present, but it happens. As a rule I’m a very trusting person – too trusting, some might say – and that has usually worked out well for me. Usually. Not always. I’ve had people betray my trust and – especially lately – it makes me think of maybe shutting down, closing people out.
But then I remember how badly it hurts to have a friend who is closing people out, who refuses to open up and to trust, and I know I can’t hurt my friends and family that way.
So I trust. Not completely, not fully all at once. But I trust enough, and I trust until I have a reason not to.

A lot of times trying is all you can do.

It’s not bad not to trust anyone new to you specially if you were betrayed too much.

That is why you must choose the people you trust very carefully.
